Found in a NYC antique shop on 57th street in the 1950's. similer in size & style to a tromba marina in the Luigi Cherubini Conservatory in Florence
Llisted with the 200 known antique Trombas marina in "A Trumpet By Any Other Name; A History of The Trumpet Marine" by C. Adkins and A. Dickenson, Buren 1991
Displayed in an exhibition of privately owned Musical Instruments in the Library of the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center in 1975.64 1/2" H x 12 1/2" at greatest W. 9 cypress staves
Neck & scroll are walnut
Mouldings at base of neck & bottom edge are walnut.Worm gear tuning. Pine soundboard is not original.Bow is a 19th century "Dragonetti" style bow
